Understanding the Process

Step #1

Building a Relationship

Building a relationship with the client is key to a successful design. After all, I am designing for you! Our first meeting is time spent getting to know you, your desires, lifestyle and budget.

Step #1

Step #2

Measuring & Analysis

After the design costs are agreed upon and deposit is obtained, then the measuring, photos and site analysis begins.

Step #2

Step #3

Frame Drafting

Once the frame of the yard is drafted we have a second meeting to review layout recommendations along with a generous plant palette. Upon approval of layout and plants the final draft begins.

Step #3

Step #4

Final Design

Third meeting is all about reviewing final design. You will receive multiple sets of the final design in order to obtain thorough bids from licensed landscape contractors.

Step #4

**It is important to note that I stay in communication with the contractor once the installation process starts and will make sure the project is to your satisfaction.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a landscape designer, I will approach your project with either a consultation or a design. Whether it is a full yard design, a planting plan, a yard renovation or an overall desire to reduce water, I can help transform your yard. Referrals to licensed contractors for installation will be provided at the end of the design process.

Since every yard is different with different level of needs, there is no flat fee that fits all. Some yards are complex while others are straightforward. After the initial consultation to evaluate the site I can then give a quote for a design and review the process with you. If you wish to proceed with the design I then waive the consultation fee.

The process from start to finish can be between 6-8 weeks, depending on the time of the year.  After the area is measured and drafted, there is a second meeting to review recommended layout and plant palette.  You are part of the process in transforming your yard!  Once the layout is approved then it goes to a final design, with a third and final  meeting to review.
